Have you ever wondered how do people make money blogging? Well, I sure did! When I became a mom, juggling a full-time job and having a newborn was a bit overwhelming and I felt like I was missing out on those precious moments with my baby. I quit my job and became a stay at home mom, and shortly after we had our second baby.

In the beginning, I loved staying home, and soon I learned being a stay-at-home mom is a full time on its own. But as my kids grew older, and didn’t need my full attention as much, I had more time on my hands, and living on one income wasn’t always easy.

I wanted to contribute financially and still stay at home with my kiddos. So I started researching how to make money from home and I kept seeing these articles about how bloggers make money from home, and it sounded too good to be true. So after some time I finally gave in and started my own blog. And it’s one of the best decisions I made.

So you’re probably thinking Ok but How do you make money blogging?

1. Affiliate Marketing.

One way of making money from a blog is to join Affiliate Marketing Programs. If you are wondering what is Affiliate Marketing? Its when you sign up to be an affiliate for a program, and when you promote their product on your blog you will earn a commission when someone buys the product or service you are recommending with your affiliate link.

Affiliate Marketing is one of the quickest ways to make money blogging especially for beginners and my favorite way. The reason why I like Affiliate Marketing is because

  • You don’t have to own the product.
  • Easy to Join
  • You don’t have to handle customers or complaints.
  • Passive Income.

Best Affiliate Programs To Join (Perfect for Beginners)

1.ShareASale is an Affiliate Network, meaning when you join them you join a network of companies. One of the reasons why I love ShareASale is because you have access to sign up for different affiliate programs.

2.CJ Affiliate is another Affiliate Network similar to ShareASale.

3.Target Affiliates I mean who doesn’t love shopping at Target, and they pay you up to 8% commission on popular categories.

4.James Allen Affiliates perfect for the jewelry or wedding niche, JamesAllen is a reputable company and not to mention the gorgeous high-quality Engagement Rings. What I love about being an affiliate for James Allen is that you are promoting high ticket products and JamesAllen has one of the highest conversion rates in the industry. (They also have an amazing support team).

5.Rakuten is a cashback site, (I’ve been using Rakuten as a customer for years myself and I tell everyone about them, hey its FREE Money in your pocket). They have an amazing referral program, basically, if you invite friends to sign up you will receive $25 and your friend gets a welcome bonus too.

Right now for a limited time, if you refer a friend and they sign up for Rakuten you both will get $30 when they join and spend $30.

6. Amazon Associates Everyone Shops at Amazon and when you become an Amazon affiliate, you have access to unlimited products you can promote. And what’s great about being part of Amazon Affiliates (yes its Amazon) but when you refer a customer to Amazon Thru your affiliate link , as long as the customer makes any kind of purchase on Amazon within 24hours, you will earn a commission.

2. Running Ads On Your Blog

Most bloggers earn money by joining an ad network and running ads on their blogs. How do ads make me money? Well, it’s actually really simple, advertisers need publishers to reach their desired audience.

There are two different types of ads PPC (Pay Per Click) and CPM (Cost Per Impression). And the way ad networks pay you is they take a combination of how many visitors clicked on an Ad and also how many pageviews an Ad received.

Many beginner bloggers sign up for poor-quality networks like AdSense and Media.Net, I would stay away from them, they slow down your site and pay you 8 cents per day. Not Worth it, Trust Me.

Mediavine is the goal for most bloggers, but now they require you to have 50k sessions per month. While you work on your traffic but still want to start earning money I Highly recommend joining Ezoic.

I’m so excited that now for beginner bloggers there is a premium ad network available like Ezoic. They do require you to have 10,000 pageviews a month (if you are close to 10k pageviews I would still encourage you to apply, I know that they approved other blogs close to 10k pageviews). Until now all the options for beginner bloggers were ad networks that paid you pennies but Ezoic is a game changer.

3. Selling Your Own Products.

As a blogger it’s all about diversifying your income, some bloggers simply make money just from running ads. But I don’t like to put all my eggs in one basket.

Another creative and fantastic way to make money blogging is by selling your own products. What can you sell?

  • Digital Products (Printables, Binders, Planners, Journals, Stickers, Calendars, Graphics, Digital Art…)
  • Online Courses (When people see you as an expert to their problem, they will purchase your course)
  • Ebooks
  • Templates
  • Subscription Service
  • Physical Product
  • Photography
  • Presets

As you can see, there are plenty of things you can sell and make money on your blog. One of the advantages of being a blogger is you are your own boss and have unlimited income potential.

4. Sponsorships.

Partnering up with companies is another way to monetize your blog. Some companies will reach out to you with an offer to write a “Sponsored Post”. But don’t wait around, if you are passionate about a certain product or niche, write a good Pitch and tell your desired company why you would be a good fit for their company and what you have to offer.

How much will you get paid for writing Sponsored Content? Well, it all depends on the company, your following, and Domain Authority.

But for example, if you have 5k monthly visitors you can expect between $75-$275 per post.

5. Offer Services.

Another great way to earn money with your blog is by offering services. You can offer services like:

  • Coaching
  • Writing Content
  • Offering Pinterest Services (Creating Pins, SEO, Writing Descriptions, Scheduling Pins…) Managing A Pinterest Account is time-consuming and many bloggers hire Pinterest VA’s so they can focus on other things.
  • Social Media Management
  • Mentorship

If you are not sure what service to offer, simply create “Work With Me” page and let customers come to you with their ideas. As a beginner blogger don’t feel intimidated to offer services, it’s about creating trust with your audience that leads to success.

These are just some of the most common ways how you can make money blogging, and if you are thinking of starting a blog. Right Now is the best time to Start A Blog with people staying home, they are Online and searching.

Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to pin if you found this post useful!
